"Phoenix" Seeding System

If you are looking for an economical and effective way to plant small seeded crops, then you may want to rent our "Phoenix Seeding System".  It is a Phoenix harrow with a Valmar airflow applicator attached.   It covers a 33 foot wide swath, and can be pulled with a 100 HP tractor.  It has ground driven feed rolls, with a hydraulic driven fan system that spreads the seeds evenly across the width of the machine through a network of hoses. (There's a picture of the system on the "Our Products" page of this website ...)

It works well in dry conditions, as it doesn't disturb the soil as deeply as conventional tillage, and tends to seal off the top of the soil and prevent further moisture loss due to evaporation.  Ironically, it was also used extensively and successfully in last spring's wet conditions because it allowed farmers to get onto their land when their heavier equipment would bury itself in the mud.
